Despite the word only being used twice in scripture, regeneration is an essential component in learning to appreciate our salvation in Christ. If there is no regeneration by the Spirit, there is no eternal life to hope for.

Today we are going to briefly discuss and cover some of the basic understandings of one of the fancy big words used in various Christian circles ending in “ology”. In its most basic definition, Soteriology focuses on the study of salvation, or saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Today, I want to focus on a song that we have sung a handful of times during our weekend gatherings called “Abide” which is written by a worship collective called Dwell Songs. The song centers around John 15:5 and has a simple message – depend on the Lord.

The other day I read online that a recent poll of about 1000 people was conducted asking them what their New Year’s resolution will be. The highest answer and 44% of the results were health-related resolutions. But 29% of the resolutions centered around something related to a relationship with God.

Jesus was Jewish. Born into a Jewish family, He grew up going to the temple and reciting the scriptures from the Torah, the first five books of the Bible. When we consider the differences between Judaism and Christianity, it is on the question of who was Jesus Christ that most Jews and Christians divide.

The 2020 (in 2021) summer Olympics have officially started! For many of these athletes, they have their whole identity, value, purpose, and meaning of their life wrapped up in this one defining event. But, what does the Bible say about where our true identity is found?

We have all felt it. A pull towards disobedience, a desire to live our lives "on our own terms." Though we may know God's plans for our lives, or at least the commands that He gives us, we find it impossible to follow through. Why can’t we escape these sinful impulses? To find the answer, we must start at the very beginning.

Each month we will look at a word or phrase related to Christian theology, define it, give background about the theology behind the word, and what it means for us today. This month’s word is Sanctification and how we as Christians become more like Christ through this process.

Hiding in the dark, whether it was by myself or with someone else, gave me permission to do things I would never consider doing in the light which caused me to live my life out of the fear of being found out, handicapping my faith. But men living empowered by the light have three characteristics in their relationship with God.

If you’re a follower of Christ, I wonder: How big of a deal to you is Christian community? How about Christian unity? Christian community and unity are inseparable results of what Jesus has done on the cross.
